Description

The aim of this course is to use theory and practice in order to teach learners what conditional sentences are and how they should be used. By the end of this course, students should be able to use conditionals in oral speech and written texts naturally and coherently. In the first part of the course, students will be taught the general purpose of using conditional sentences, how conditional sentences are structured and the four different types of conditionals (zero, first, second, third, mixed). They will also learn how to use the frst two types of conditionals (zero and first conditional). In the second part of the course, students will learn how to use the second and the third conditional. In the third and last part of the course, the students will learn how to combine the second and third conditional, as well as other important skills, such as “if” alternatives and inversions.

Units

In this forum, students can work together and help each other by asking questions about conditionals and answering the questions of their peers. 

This unit serves as an introduction to conditional senteces. In it, learners will be taught how to use the zero conditional and the first conditional. 

In this unit, learners will be taught how to use the second conditional and the third conditional.

In this unit, learners will be taught how to use mixed conditionals, "if" alternatives and inversions.

This unit includes the worksheet containing this course's final test. 

This test will be worth 7 out of 10 final grade points. 

Students complete a final questionnaire to share their opinions about the course and provide the course instructor with feedback and ways to improve it.
