The Olympic Games are an athletic festival that originated in ancient Greece and were revived in the late 19th century. They are the world's foremost sports competition and include athletes from all over the world.
Why are they important?
Because they promote peace and the Olympic principles all around the world.
So, in this Unit we are going to have a closer look at the various sports that are part of the Olympic games. Also you will have the chance to practice the vocabulary you learned in Unit 1 through matching and multiple choice activities. These exercises will help you assimilate your acquired knowledge, improve your perfomance and reach your highest potential.

2. After studying the glossary, practise the words you have learned by completing a matching activity you can access to from "Exercises" section. The activity is also available under the "Documents" section if you would like to print it but we advise you to complete it online so that you can get immediate feedback.
3. The Assignment 1, which is a padlet activity that requires you to answer a few questions based on your personal preferences. We will discuss your answers in our next lesson!
