Welcome to Week 1!
Billie Jean King says that "sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose, it teaches you about life".
There are numerous types of sports. In this Unit, we will discuss the characteristics of different types of sports and analyze each one's equipment for an effective learning experience in an online learning environment.
To-do list in Unit 1:
1. The "Welcome forum" is there for you to introduce yourself and let us know about your expectations from this course.
2. There is a short introductory video for you to get acquainted with sports vocabulary. The video is available under the "links" section.
3. There is a file with flashcards that you may access from the "Documents" section that provides you with a general overview of the basic sports vocabulary. Study the materials you prefer and help you learn more effectively.
4. There is a word game about sports equipment that you can have access to from the "Links" section. Through this matching activity you will extend and practise your vocabulary related to sports.
